Richard Leonard was elected as a Member of the Scottish Parliament in May 2016.
Prior to being elected, Richard was an Organiser for the GMB trade union where he represented workers in the manufacturing industry and public services across Central Scotland.
A former Scottish TUC economist, he has written extensively on the Scottish economy and has also served on the Boards of several economic regeneration companies.
In addition to this, Richard has served on the Scottish Living Wage campaign steering committee.
He is the Secretary of the Keir Hardie Society and Vice Chairperson of the Scottish Labour History Society
