Speaking after his visit to the Drumchapel foodbank, Scottish Labour leader Richard Leonard said: "The Tories' cuts agenda, which the SNP has failed to challenge, has led to a startling rise of poverty across Scotland - including for many people in work.

"It was inspiring to see how this community has come together to help people in need.

"But it is a disgrace, and heartbreaking, that people are forced to use food banks in the first place.

"Labour will end Foodbank Britain with a £10 real living wage, paid to all workers regardless of age, and scrapping the cruel Universal Credit.

"And we will invest over £70 billion in Scotland's public services and wider economy to bring about the real change that Scotland so desperately needs."
